I broke mine too
And the incandescent light of love
that I was so sure of
dimmed and changed.
That unbreakable thing
that I held and knew
my heart and soul
was suddenly something else
I still knew what it was
but it wasn't the same.
We mean what we say
when we say them they are true
but we forget to think in multi time zones
we get what we want
but it may not be
what we want when we get it
because we're not who we were
when we get to where we want
it may even be better
just not the same.
nothing finishes, nothing ends
it changes and grows
"we" becomes who we are
we're not children
we are men
