A little lunch today, me, Sam and Rachel. We went to The Builder's Arms in Fitzroy, as it has just been refurbished and Rachel is an old foodie, having been in the restaurant game for years.
The service was fine. The food was okay, normal standard fare. Pork and chicken for $30. Side dishes cost more.
The two things we found surprising was the restaurant was full of flies, visibly crawling over the patron's backs. And that it was also quite distinctly scented with smoke from the charcoal grill outside cooking the chickens.
Flies and smoke. Lovely. I can't wait to see what it is like in summer.
Not surprisingly, we all agreed we wouldn't be hurrying back.
I suggested walk in the afternoon, that really turned into an afternoon nap. Don't you love an afternoon nap?
