But, it's not strong enough, for a man who is destroying the world, as we know it.
Christian

Yeah right. Are you well and happy my Fletchy?
Leah

I'm well... but I fear Armageddon from the religious wars we are now facing – sanctioned by US, Aus, Uk governments. Who said religion wasn't going to destroy the world?
Christian

Not me…………
Leah

Just as well! How are you miss... er... mrs?
Christian

I'm lovely. I've just had a great weekend with my fam and I am a bit tired, but happy as well. When are you coming up to stay for a long weekend and to play with your buddy?
Leah

Jesus Freaks with bombs with standing... I don't know. But I should, dear old Sydney, dear old Leers...
Christian

Enough of the old already!
Leah

You are my old, old, old, old, old, old, friend.

SMS. 15.35. Are you having a nice (enough) day? – Christian
SMS. 16.10. Yes I am, seen Jude, He-who-shall-never-be-mentioned, Mark W. & Shane – Tom
SMS. 16.14. You are having a social day then – Christian

Hi everyone, Chineseproverb
I know everyone is sick of chain emails, but I thought this was really nice as everyone deserves a little luck.
Regards,
Jill

Jesus Jill, you need to get out more!
Christian

(Josh)
I’m bored. Smoking too much dope, quite possibly. I’m going to bed. It’s 9.30pm. What is wrong with me? (No more than usual… look over either shoulder… I’m sure.) But, I either have to get out of the house more, or give into the reality that I’m a chronic masturbator.
So, how are you? Doll?
Nothing much to tell. When out saturd’y night, took a gob full of pills and me charms worked on no one and I came home alone at 4am with sore feet.
I’d smoked myself something fierce Saturday, slaving over a computer, trawling the internet, writing a script, my family history now goes back to 1892, that’s letters from all involved, when I heard the gentle pitter pat of rain drops on the glass roof. I swung around to gaze wistfully (it’s been as hot as a nun’s cunt… Azhrielle’s labia… um… yes, quite. Frightfully hot.) at the drops of crystal sliding gently down the pane… only to feel I was looking gazing through a gauze blur… don’t try to focus… it could hurt…big smile… life is good… joint? Ah… stretch out in the gentle light.
He-who-shall-never-be-mentioned’s fortieth. Four hours.
The phone rings. “Hello, hello? Christian I’m locked out.”
What! Oh! No! Please…no!
I dive on the phone. “But what about the next door neighbours with the key?”
“Away.”
I could see three displays of the clock on the microwave, none of them clear. I looked out the window, drizzling, at dusk.
The kitchen was quiet. Just my heartbeat in my ears.
Well, old woman, I thought...

healthy pink cheeks

Crooked Smile

I got home at 5am. Nicholas and I smoked bongs and then we both went to bed.

SMS. 7.01. Hi darlings, if you feel like coming over to my place for recovery, give me a call – He-who-shall-never-be-mentioned “40”

I wandered about a bit. I came down and trawled gaydar, until I decided that was a bad idea. I saw He-who-shall-never-be-mentioned’s message and I should have responded, maybe gone over for recovery. But I didn’t feel like moving much. Didn’t feel like leaving the house again. I went back to bed and slept, pretty much. I didn’t have any overwhelming need, other than rolling myself up in my doona and shutting my eyes. Ah, for the old days of hours of sex with handsome boyfriends. Good night sweet princes.

(Josh)

cough, cough, splutter, splutter

Been feeling naughty about my flip answer to you the other day, sorry little buddy. Actually, Ab reminded me Friday night when she asked about your mixish little arse. Told her you’d be cross, and that I’d better go home and write something else. Boy is her life topsey turvey at the mo. But, if you want details you can ask her yourself abyaustin@yahoo.com

I am too shattered now to write at any length, He-who-shall-never-be-mentioned’s 40th last night. I’m just holding together, feeling a little shaky, but, all things considered, not too bad.

Danced all night, couldn’t make it to slut hour, left about 4am, with sore feet. Didn’t realise how out of it I was until I tried to do the old taxi thing. Mumbled something and fortunately I got a taxi driver who, actually, knew the streets of Melbourne. As my eyes crossed over in the back seat. Got home completely unscathed.

Went to Bolago Fridy night, as they’ve just got home from a month in Vietnam. Bastards went to Ancor Wat too, I told them I hated them for that.

Ahh, it’s a lovely day, blue skies, sunshine, the sniff of summer in the air. Lovely.

Big (crooked) smile

Got to go and eat something.

Christian

Now this government wants to slip a reference to God into our national anthem. When will this ever stop?

The Christian collision is now in power in Germany.

The Christians are in power and they’ve gained it from a strategy of non-disclosure of their Christian values. It’s frightening, the Christians, as the collision of the willing and the Muslim’s as the terrorists.

The stupid fuckers aren’t going to realise the second coming, they are going to realise Armageddon, and us non-believers just have to sit back and watch the show.

With what’s going on in the world today, as a species, we’ve evolved not a wink.

The West’s treatment of the Middle East is, let’s face it, appalling, has an appalling history. You can kind of understand why they might, just a little bit, feel pissed off. America missed a huge opportunity after the World Trade centre was blown up. They could have asked, How did this happen? Why do other countries feel so badly toward us? How can we make peace in the world? You know? We all know that if you chuck bombs, for whatever reason, people will chuck them back? Conservative – Christian – governments, have a terrible history of ruling with war.

Isn’t there only one thing that we ever learn from war…we don’t want another one.

I lazed, stoned, in front of the T.V. I got lost in an ABBA special. Tim said, "I suppose you want to watch Idol?" I looked @ the time, it was 21.45. Doh!

I went to bed early.

Sex and Socialism

SMS. 7.03. How’s about a visit today Miss?! – Tom

I hardly saw Luke at all, as he had to work today and was gone before I got up.

I told Ab to forget about the money she owed me. It seems unfair to ask her for it when she’s broke and I’m not. It’s my little part of socialism. besides, it would go around in circles, we'd both hate each other, in the end, because of it and it still wouldn't have been paid. It's easier just to cut the loss now and be done with it. $650

She said she couldn’t even suck my cock.

“You said you liked (boyfriend) Rob’s legs,” said Aby. “I could get Rob to do it.”

“Wouldn’t cut it. Straight boy,” I said. “He’d have fear in his eyes.”

“Not if he was lying on his stomach,” said Ab.

“Pants off?”

“Of course.”

“Could I stick things in his arse?”

“Plastic things?”

“Yes.”

“I don’t see why not.”

“Nah, he’d tremble. It would bounce off his teeth, probably not ideal.”

Ab agreed.

SMS. 13.39. On my way miss. See ya in an hour – Christian

SMS. 13.39. Okay :-) – Tom

I was still in the driveway.

SMS. 13.49. (Ab) Jacob (Ab's other gay friend) could suck my cock in place of Rob – Christian

Oh, that post breaky joint was just kicking in and my mind had really run with Rob doing the deed, gorgeous Rob. But somehow, I got onto Ab’s gay friend Jacob, truthfully, he was a bit girlie but as Mark says, they all butch up when they’ve got a cock in their mouth. Oh, it just made me laugh.

I shouldn’t send texts like that, as Ab is not privy to my full thoughts. It amused me, the thought of Ab forcing Jacob to suck my cock, to pay off her debts. She put Jacob in one of her movies. "I made you a star!" she'd wail.

I got to Tom’s by 2.30, stayed to 5pm. Tom’s looking better, his bladder water is more yellow than red. It's almost a nice safron, with a pink tinge, we decided.

I got home about 5pm, just in time for the drug deal, smoked joints continuously, as I studied the Fletcher Family history.

Tim and Nicholas went out for pre-whatever drinks.

I rolled a few joints, put my feet up. Day done.

At 7pm the phone rang. “Christian, I’m locked out,” said mum on the other end. The people who live next door with the key are away, or dead, or out, or something. I decided just to go over there, just not think about it. Stoned off me bounce, I set out in the rain.

I got there no drama. There she was, sitting on the front step, my beautiful mother, diminished capacity. Forlorn. There is a twinge of sadness in a life lived so well coming to this, really there is. She was pleased to see me, of course.

I got back without a problem. (Long time pot smokers have no trouble piloting a car)

Nicholas and Tim and Sophie and her boyfriend, Adam, arrived off their faces at 9.30. I did lines of speed with them and head out at 10pm.

The Market was jumping by midnight. He-who-shall-never-be-mentioned has so many friends, we note while the private party is on. Sylvia and I wondered if we knew as many people as who seem to be there. We couldn’t decide. Then the two of us laughed. Sylvia has that gorgeous tinkly laugh. Chatting to her is worth it just to hear her laugh. We didn’t care.

11.11

SMS. 7.35. Morning miss. It’s chilly in Gertrude Street this morn – Christian
SMS. 7.35. Morning my bladder is playing nicely today – Tom
SMS. 7.38. Yeah! – Christian
SMS. 7.47. Are you going to He-who-shall-never-be-mentioned’s b/day tomorrow? – Tom

I was at work by 8am.

11.11 on the 11th of the 11th – must be my day.
Christian

It's always your day Chriso and if you stand and look in the mirror… you'll find your standing on them too…
Mark

Huh? What’s in the mirror? What am I standing on?
Christian

Legs 11 silly.
Mark

Big smile. I could do a jig. Hop on a bus. Skip to my lou. Run to the country, my darling.
Christian

Twood be best methinks…..
Mark

(Leah)
Happy dear old da remembrance day.
(Christian)

No, I wasn't taking the piss, although I could have been, as Leah is the only one I know who is into that shit. F
or a really smart chick, she really adheres to all the cultural norms without much thought otherwise.
However, I wasn't. Leah's father died on 11/11, many years ago now. I guess it is, in a sense, a kind of warped email, as there is a part of me that is making fun of which what Leah believes, and I am sending condolences in the same breath.

SMS. 14.32. Hi Chriso Rob (wob) here Just asking when you are heading to Bolago? And if you are not leaving til Saturday can I get a lift? I’m happy to catch a tram :) – Rob

My phone was out of space for new messages all day. Grrrrr!
I left work at 3pm, everything done, all ready to go Monday. Well, I got in at 8am and didn’t have a lunch break, so how early did I, in fact, leave? Beck said I could go if I went straight to Bolago, but I couldn’t go if I was going home to fart about. How well does she know me?
I called my internet provider and got my emails working again.

Hey Shane,
Question? How would I find the date of Good Friday 1950?
Christian

Da dah!!!!
http://www.flicklives.com/Timeline/1950_cal.html
How are you doll?
Glad it's Friday!!!
Shane

SMS. 16.20. I’m leaving now – Christian
SMS. 16.28. ok – Rob
Of course, that meant Tom dipped out on his Friday night visit.

Mark, Luke, Aby and a woofa named Raymond, from South Korea, were there when I got there. But, Luke had to leave, for work, a few minutes later.

SMS. 19.46. Hi Manny called, wanted you to go over. I said u may have gone away, hope that’s alright – Tim

I smoked pot and Aby and Mark and I discussed the Hansel and Grethel script. I smoked too much pot, or was it just that it was Friday night, and I was tired and I fell asleep? I vaguely remember opening my eyes, as Mark directed me off to bed, to see Luke sitting next to me.

Cute Rob

I'd Have Rob's Babies

SMS. 10.08. Hi doll is Tim coming as well on Sat night? – He-who-shall-never-be-mentioned

SMS. 10.11. No, he’s not – Christian

SMS. 10.14. (Tim) Can u get me a pill for sat night? No problem if u can’t, just thought I’d ask – Christian

SMS. 10.23. Sorry doll, one more thing, Mark and Luke? Sat. They’re not answering their phone – He-who-shall-never-be-mentioned

SMS. 10.27. I think they’ve got guests Saturday night – Christian

SMS. 11.00. How many? - Tim

It’s nice to hear Mark’s voice on the message machine when I get home. I call him.

Mark tells me that Ab was really upset about Rob’s internet dalliances – chicks wanting him to be rough with them. You know the dalliance I was so flip about. I guess the reason I was flip about it was because of the dalliances that I knew that Ab had had while she was in New York. Good for the goose, good for the gander and all that. Apparently, nobody but me and, her mate, Jacob know about those dalliances. Well, apparently, the reason Aby was so upset about Rob's affairs, was because of the nasty stuff he wanted those girls to do with him.

Mark also tells me that Ab is pregnant.

I wonder if Rob is the father? (edt note - he wasn't)

nice greek boy

Greek boys - Can't Live With Them, Can't Live Without Them

SMS. 6.21. Morning miss. The sunrise was beautiful – Christian

SMS. 6.24. Morning. Yes it is beautiful – Tom

Nicholas and Tim cooked roast lamb. It smelt fantastic. But, I went to my mum’s for dinner, instead, to enjoy her very English cooking. (That’s how she over-cooks it and not the dishes she chooses)

Boy’s names – Ethan, Eamon and Esteban. We’ve got a Spanish Esteban, at work, who is incredibly hot. I reckon having a son one day would be pretty cool. You know, the idea of it, even if the reality wasn’t quite the same thing.

SMS. 20.52. How are you big boy? – Christian

SMS. 20.52. That’s the question – G

SMS. 20.55. And the answer would be? – Christian

SMS. 21.27. I’ll come and visit? – Christian

SMS. 21.27. Not at the moment – G

SMS. 21.30. Why? – Christian

SMS. 21.37. Are you ok? – Christian

SMS. 21.37. Yes – G

SMS. 21.40. Ok then see you soon? – Christian

That Boy Ben

Mark called in the middle of the night from Kuala Lumpur to say the plane was late. Could I call Jane in the morning. "You will remember, won’t you?"
SMS. 01.49. Plane 1 and ½ hours late – Christian
I drifted back to nod in the dark recesses of my bedroom, so quickly.
SMS. 06.41. Thanks – Jane

SMS. 09.39. Morning miss, it’s a gorgeous day, after all that heat. I’m sending you a big smile – Christian
SMS. 09.38. Thanks Christian – Tom

Cute, sexy Ben G. was at the lifts, as I left. He came out with me and pushed my button for me. Blonde hair. Blue eyes. Killer smile. Sexy husky voice. We talked about the new floor and how we’re too busy to notice what’s going on around us.
“I’m too busy working to notice my view.”
“That’s what really sucks.” Ben smiles. “All the work.” He laughed. He’s gorgeous. I want him to ask me if I’m gay.
Yes, I am.
You know, I’ve always fancied you.
I smile broadly. So does he. That’s good, because I’ve always fancied you, too.
Bing, bing, our lifts arrive. One last smile and we’ve both gone. Just like that. Imagine how exciting our next meeting would be. I want that please universe.
One week he comes to my place. We both get stoned. We kiss.
I get to slide my hand down his pants, as he looks coy, with as he unzips his pants. Daylight savings evening, the light still bathing my room. We explore in silence. We kiss passionately.
I rang Tom – you do not have an Orange voicemail, good bye.

SMS. 17.45. Ah… I’ve just been chatting to my new boy friend, Ben. He just doesn’t know it yet. Ah! – Christian

Tom rang me back. I was lost in the magnificence of the evening, walking home. I didn’t answer.
I rang Tom back. No answer.
Tom called to say he was going to sleep. I didn't pick up.

SMS. 20.14. Sweet dreams – Christian

The Boyfriend

SMS. 8.55. Morning miss – Christian

SMS. 9.06. Morning, I am so depressed – Tom

SMS. 9.14. Think happy thoughts. This time next year it will all seem like a bad dream – Christian

SMS. 9.16. Do you remember me looking in on you last night? – Christian

Hey Christian ... Is it Ok if we have a chat tomorrow about how much time Nicholas is spending there...? I know he has been there a lot... just wanted to find out if he can put in as he likes staying over and I like him staying and I really don't want to move out (as I know u don't want to live with a couple and it probably feels like you already are)... It’s your house and I don't want to upset you... Anyway... this isn’t coming out properly... If you’re free tomorrow night will chat then.

Tim

Cool. Don't stress, because I'm not.

Christian

(You know, Nicholas is really the loveliest boy. If all the boyfriends of all the house mates were as lovely as Nicholas, I’d never have a problem with any of them. Nicholas grew up in govt housing with a alcoholic/drug addict mother [who I like, just by the way] and he turned out as gorgeous as he is) [the fact he has movie star good looks, you know, really doesn't go against him either]

Funny, if you call him Nick, he will correct you quietly and with good grace, “It’s Nicholas.”

VOO 815 red BMW convertible Bourke Street Oct 05

I guess I have never mentioned that I keep a record of the date that I see number plates with a new prefix. I’ve done it since I was a kid. You know, same colour different model.

It was raining heavily when I was coming home. Everybody was damp on the tram. I sat with Jenny Doyle and we chatted all the way. Well, Jen did. I felt like shit all day.

As I walked up Gertrude street. “Hay mate, can you spare twenty cents for a phone call?”

“No, sorry mate.”

The rain was dropping in many and large raindrops, so the two of us stood under the shop canopy for a moment.

“You guys must get really hammered around here for money?” he continued.

“I walk to work, so I can get asked many times a day.”

“I’ve got that. Everybody has said no,” said the guy. “I’m from Knox and I really just need twenty cents for a call.”

So I gave him twenty cents.

Nicholas’ going to move in. He’s here all the time anyway. He might as well. He went and got dope.

I felt like shit all day. I stayed up till 1 am finishing off my photo album, before backing up the lot.

There’s a good job done.

Hi Chriso

HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Hugs... can't wait

Mark

Fly well... come home safely.

Christian

ahem ahem ahem ahem ahem

(Josh)

Oh yes, you…

So Many Men

I’m cropping the last of mum’s old photos... and they are great Leah is cleaning and rolling joints. It is a glorious day, thirty degrees, bright blue sky.

The day’s getting on. The only problem with daylight savings, I’m continually thinking the day is younger than it is. I’m feeling lazy, happy to be tinkering on the computer.

I told Tom I’d try to drop in on him, before Idol.

SMS. 17.25. Hi, call Manny on 36xx 31xx – Tim

I called Manny. He spoke dirty in my ear. When I went back to the photos I couldn’t concentrate, Manny’ sexy voice rang in my ears. The pit of my stomach told me I wanted him, couldn't stop thinking about pulling his pants down.

I was packed in minutes, when I’d finally decided to go.

SMS. 18.30. What’s Guido’s number? – G

SMS. 18.35. 0xxx 1xx 2xx – Christian

I got to Manny’s at 7pm. I raced him off to the bedroom and kissed him and licked him, until I made him make those adorable noises. I organised for him to tape Idol.

It was quick, just a pit stop. Manny said, "Leave the money on the fridge," as I walked out the door, it was so quick.

SMS. 20.17. Be there soon – Christian

I was at Tom’s by 8.30.

Tom was already asleep, I was too late. I felt like I’d let him down, as I gazed at his one hundred year old face in sleep.

He woke momentarily and I asked if he wanted to keep sleeping. He said yes. So I headed home.

Tim cooked me dinner.

I went to bed and watched TV.

Andy Garcia

SMS. 00.21. (Tom) I want Andy Garcia as my next boyfriend - Christian

Leah and I watched an American telemovie late with Andy Garcia in it. How hot is that man? I drifted off to sleep lying on his chest, looking into his eyes.

SMS. 6.56. Just woke up to a leaking catheter bag, my floor is like a pond. Sorry could not chat last night xxxx – Tom
SMS. 7.52. Yesterday was wonderful in a way, no clots, no dramas. Thanks for wishing it xxxx – Tom

I crop photos and write mum a travel journal from her own words from the backs of the photos and all the postcards she wrote. It worked kind of well.

SMS. 11.48. (Tom) U rang? – Christian

I trawl gaydar, in the study and Leah rolls the joints, in the lounge. She’s great, she keeps them coming.

SMS. 7.23. Did I rspv to your birthday? – Christian
SMS. 7.55. Yes darling, the country boys and Tim haven’t – He-who-shall-never-be-mentioned

I chatted to Gill about Uncle Al’s email address, as I walked up the Bourke Street Mall, all sharp edges and sanitised since its makeover. It’s the austere noughts, the time we’re living in. I told her I’d have to contact the other one. The other what, she asked. Well, there’s three of us, I say.

SMS. 18.09. (Will) Do you know Uncle Al’s email address? – Christian

I get home from work and feel like I’m slipping into procrastinate mode, not long after settling. So I pack everything in the car and leave, just as Tim and Nicholas get home.
As I hit the Gisborne sign, I remember that I was going to go and visit Tom on my way up. Doh! I’m such an airhead sometimes. And I had no dope, I promise.

SMS. 20.54. Hey Christian – Tom
SMS. 20.58. How are u miss? Did nice things happen? – Christian

Leah and I veg in front of the TV. Leah rolls the joints, I make the tea.

Blah

SMS. 6.41. Morning Christian steamy enough for ya? I had another huge clot removed in theatre yesterday. Good today though. Love ya xxxx – Tom

At work at 8.30. The week is going swimmingly. The weather is gorgeous, if a little hot. First week of not wearing a jacket. Summer’s here, folks. Lovely!

oh goodie,

i thought that was the case, re: just blurbing it out until you get a frame, in fact Rob said the same thing that that’s how most people write and then i remembered what you said about me writing in blocks, so i think its great that we have the two styles going on. You can hammer out the script and get it to 90 and i can work on the details in blocks as we go. It’s so EXCITING!

we went and saw Wolf Creek last night and got so inspired, that movie is SHIT SCARY!!!!!!!!!

lions and tigers and bears oh my!

it is sooooooooooooooooooo gnarly, its kinda like an out back fucked up thriller that is on the slasher side too, but the point is they made it for 1.5 million and its a cracker! so we're on the right track we can make this film i know it.

also its inspiring because they reeeeeeeeeeally push the content it’s so fucked up! and the main psycho is John Jarrat from play school!!! (amongst other things sure) it’s worth watching but I don’t know if you'd cope :)

script ideas.

- yeah I see them 18ish, but if they were younger the stakes would be risen, but either way i think the actors have to be 18 so we don’t run into all that child-law stuff, but they could look young.

- what do you think about the idea of Grethel having panic attacks as the story develops, major anxiety, like she can’t take much more of the life style?

- I also think there should be some part where they have fun together, somewhere near the beginning so we endear ourselves to the characters and want to hang out with them because their cool and we like them.

- just toying with an idea also that the step monster tries to get rid of them with child services first, like DOCS or something and because it’s the future they tell her that she must look after her children, everyone has to. And they reject taking them in.

anyway onward and upward have you read the 1st act that i sent you yet?

xx Aby

This One's Better

SMS. 7.39. Morning Miss all clots here, looks like surgery will be needed. Argh! And you? – Tom

SMS. 7.47. Oh boo hoo. On the way to the salt mines. It’s hot. I’m sweating already – Christian

SMS. 7.47. Very boo hoo Miss – Tom

I think it’s the salt mines that will be the death of you NOT the ciggies and bongs... death by boredom and fools...

Now as for our ticket out of the mines and off the dole ive read the script and there a few moments and some sweeeet ass dialog mah friend and I am currently working it into tha story, but to be honest (as we are!) I think it’s all a little 'two hands' right now (have you seen it? set in Sydney and the cross Bryan Brown, street kids, prostitution and drugs?) and I feel like it needs to be more lush and fairytale like.

We need to find a story line that’s different in its sameness. I think we need to go in search of a heart, have you read what I wrote? I need feedback on it so I can go further too.

I really miss the old dialogue and images, I think you should re read the skank script again as there was gold in there. It was different to other films because of the dialog and scenes that were like the fairy tale. I think we've gone to Australiana with Woz and Gaz and the manky cross, we should create a fictitious world. In saying that the prospect of using Sydney is good because it is sooooo much bigger than Melbourne, but Sydney has been used a thousand times in films, I want to create another land like in Dark City. That and Melbourne hasnt been used really and it does have some cool stuff that we haven’t seen yet in films, the bolte bridge is a cracker as is that sci fi bridge that's on the city link. Also Melbourne is way more gothic and cobble stoned and Parkland arama. Then there’s ye oldie worldly bridges and stuff that cross the Yarra and big oak trees that drop their leaves, perhaps the story could follow the seasons?

I also dont buy that Hansel is so stupid when it comes to geezers and drugs, he's grown up with Candy so he is hardly an innocent, the fact that grethel knows more is odd?

I think that when you slip into the 'characters' mode you come out with some gem qoutes like Magic and the 'ass up' line and i ABSOLUTELY adore the "i wanted to call you Kevin line" as the last thing said! genius.

But i want THE WHOLE FILM to be genius daddy!

Any way have a think and let me know what you think. I will finish working your stuff that you just gave me

into the script and ill email you that as well.

toot a loo

x Aby

Yeah, sure. I’m not attached to any of it at the moment. I guess what I’m trying to do with this script is just get it out to 90 pages, fast. At this point I’m just chucking it in as it comes into my head. They are just vehicles for me to move the story forward and when it’s more complete they can all be replaced. I don’t reckon I really write good stuff until I have a first draft and then the good bits come.

I think I wrote script B as more the feel of what I want it to be in the end. Script A is just getting it onto a full script lay out.

I’m thinking fairytale, in the end. In away, that is the heart of the story, that’s why I think the dream ending could work. It is a fairytale and we need to page homage to that, on some level, otherwise it should just be called Brett and Kylie.

I was just thinking, as I was walking to work this morning, Why are we using Sydney?

I was also thinking this morning that I have made Hansel too gay. I’m going to cut the gay stuff with him – maybe one scene, a moment.

I see Hansel like Saffy at that party, when she tells the joint roller he is doing it all wrong and takes over. Knows stuff but hasn’t tried it, shunned maybe, until he goes on this adventure.

I see Grethel as having seen a lot and having drawn quiet strength from it.

I just see them as a boy and girl of that age, where the girl is more mature. (Do we both see them as 18, or thereabouts?)

Writing, Writing

I drove into work at 9am and printed out Hansel & Grethel
Aby and Rob came over. Wouldn’t you know, when I turned my computer on to show Rob, it worked perfectly. Ain’t it always the way.
I think there is a new syndrome, yet to be identified as such, separation anxiety amongst computer users when their computers doesn’t work.
Aby says she can’t handle Tom’s anger and aggression any longer. She says she just can’t go and see him at the moment.
Tom’s pissed off, that’s for sure.

My 'puter is back up and working. Damn, naughty thing.
You see Rob, when you turn it on nothing... oh... what... you can't be serious! You see how bad it is?
Looks fine to me, said Rob.
Just went on a little holiday for a couple of days. Good for it.
So I'm back on the air.
I planned to write all weekend on Hansel & Grethel, but no. I so wanted to focus and push it out to 90 pages, even if a lot of it was in note form. I was on such a roll, focused and writing, when the lights went ally-oop - No, it's okay, where back on - momentarily.
So it's 23 pages and I've kind of lost the momentum. Blah!
This is the second script, script A. I wrote script B just to warm up and get into the idea. It's twenty pages and goes with the fairytale idea. But, I can cannibalise it when I've run out of steam on the real script. And Aby is writing a script too. Then we graft them together. Easy Peasy.
I had coffee with Rachel and Freya and Oliver and Billie. Billie is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute. I could want one. A blue Staffy five months old. We went to the Fitzroy Gardens Café, to spare the children G. Street coffee table antics.
It's hot! You can tell summer is just a sniff away, the damn flies are out in force.
Makybe Diva won the Melbourne Cup for the third time in a row. That's a record. That's history. That's better than Phar Lap, apparently. Some bloke put 1 million dollars on her.

Pity the bloke wasn't you chriso... you could send us more money and we could buy you more gorgeous things... this place is just a shopping Mecca – just bought the pants, 4 pairs of the most gorgeous shoos... all for $18... and the cutest jacket for $15 and pants and and and... oh my god I'm in a frenzy… I don't usually go nuts shopping but I am such a tight arse and I just can't resist these prices... specially for my Kai pants and my beck... it's so much fun shopping here cos all the little streets sell the same stuff... I think I told you... Shoe street... kids clothes street... sunglasser street and so forth and fifth... were off to dinner tonight with Georgie and Steve...we met Georgie in Sapa and we just fell in love with her... she's an english teacher from Sth Africa and just a beautiful soul... I want her to meet Jen, I think they will get on really well...I think Jen is going to be really sad when we leave… she's getting really frustrated at the college she's working at... they have a new CEO from Perth... he's an accountant... say no more... She's getting very homesick... it's great fun here for a holiday but I wouldn't want to work here… it would be really frustrating there is so much corruption on so many levels... to get anything done is just a minefield and the appreciation level is just about zilch... It was really funny last night to be sitting at dinner... just the 3 of us... chatting about the family and all its trials and tribulations...did you know that Jacqui is pregnant to her new racist bogan boyfriend... poor sandy she must just feel completely crushed... anywho... we finally got up to leave and we both realized when we were standing out the front of the restaurant... waiting for a cyclo to speed us to our little beds that we were in HANOI, being a family...we had a bug hug and a bit of a cry when we realised that we were soon to be parted again... I feel so close to her... she's just an older version of Christine... Lukie freaks out every time we see her, at how much they are alike... there is something very bonding being with a family member on the other side of the world... it's NOICE
and It was so nice to hear your voice today... I really miss having you around...
Looking forward to getting home now… sort of wish we were leaving on Saturday, instead of Monday oh well I suppose we'll fill in the time somehow... tomorrow we are going to the perfume pagoda... It's up in the mountains and is opposed to be beautiful, but a bit of a climb, better make sure I take my blood pressure tabby tomorrow...don't want to kark it over ear... oh nooo... ate dog meat today doesn't taste too bad...but fuck me it smells like wet dirty dog... blauch... not noice…
Ok Chri best be orf to the shower and get ready for another night of dinning on fabby food (no pooch though)... Love you... and hugs...
lots.....Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee & him...
Mark (and Luke)

Just remember, no manmade fibres, especially for Jay.
Tell Jen to get out, it's downhill from here baby!
Yes... um... I had heard the Jacqui news. (Must have been from Jane)
Dog flesh?
I think I could have a staffy. Nah, who am I kidding, too small. Maybe.
nite
salt mines tomorrow.
This writing caper would kill me, though, forty cigarettes today. Actually, thirty six, but who's counting.
Got to stop it, it's nasty!
