What was said,
“When I hear from people that religion doesn’t hurt anything, I say really? Well, besides wars, the Crusades, the inquisitions, 9-11, ethnic cleansing, the suppression of women, the suppression of homosexuals, fatwas, honour killings, suicide bombings, arranged marriages to minors, human sacrifice, burning witches and systematic sex with children, I have a few little quibbles.
Bill Maher

The Christian response on Facebook
There's nothing more tiresome than a militant atheist. They have no appreciation for the transformational power of belief, or the impulse that human beings have to seek their creator simply because they are thankful for life itself. Nor do they recognize the hundreds of millions, perhaps billions, of lives that have been positively affected by faith in a Higher Power. People like Bill Maher spit in God's eye at the same time they enjoy the umbrella of protection that God's ordinances afford--don't steal, don't bear false witness, don't kill; it's all been codified for both the righteous and unrighteous. Behind Bill Maher's pleasant, almost whimsical smile there is a degree of blindness, deception, and ignorance that is disturbing. If the goal of this wolf in sheep's' clothing is to rip faith out of peoples' hearts and leave them defenseless against the darkness of this world I say woe unto him for this evil. At the heart of all true faith is this admonition: do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Simple, direct, powerful, transformational. Sorry you can't see it Bill.
What I said
So many delusional people with religion, who cannot even acknowledge what is historical fact.
I predict before the end of this century, all belief in mythical gods will be considered a mental disorder.
And to call someone who doesn't believe in what you believe a "militant" means absolutely nothing. May I suggest you buy yourself a dictionary and educate yourself on the meaning of militant.
