Last Day Of The Year

It was a bloody gorgeous day today, 26 degrees, blue sky sunshine.

The day just sparkled. It seems kind of fitting for the last day of the year. Wrap it up with some tinsel and some gloss. Why not, let’s do it.

We're up to the middle of the decade. The middle of the 2020s, it's going so fast. Whoosh!

I've got a week off.

Lovely.

Is this where we reflect on the year we’ve had, the joys and the successes? Is this where we’re thankful for another year on planet earth? Is this where we are grateful for our loved ones? Is this where we give thanks for life itself?

Or, is this where we go out, drink until it’s coming out our eyeballs, smoke pot until it is coming out our ears like chimneys, take powders and pills until we can no longer see, and fall down? Is that what we do now?

Is this a milestone that we should savour?

Or is this the moment where we yell, Next!

Ah? I dunno?

I want to drive to northern NSW to visit friends, but Sam isn't keen. Of course, we couldn't make it for New Year, but we could spend our break away. That's what I'd like to do with my break. Sam has been on holidays since last week. We could have a week away, but I can't talk him into it.

Oh well.

Happy New Year.
